While in Austin for the break, I decided to take Liz to one of my favorite restaurants for lunch, a place both equally good for women and spicy palates: Vivo, also available on Yelp. Behold, the power of cheese:

Since I lived less than a 100 yards a way from Vivo for a year while I attended school at University of Texas, it’s a safe guess that I’ve eaten at Vivo about 30-40 times in my life. Thus, I can confidently say three things really stand out about Vivo:

  1. The Sala is amazing – chipotle balances between spice and smokey flavor.
  2. The vegetarian enchilado sauce is unqiue – its a little sweet, and goes great with the salsa.
  3. They usually hand out roses to female customers (bonus for dates)

To begin, we started with their salsa. It was as tasty and spicy as remembered.

Next, my entree: the vegetarian enchiladas. Although I forgot to make my usual substitution for white cheese, they were still delicious.

Liz ordered a vegetarian puffy tacos, which were bean and cheese puffy tacos served with beans and rice.

Overall, I love this place, as evident by the fact I ate Liz’s leftover’s later that night.
